Shri Devi Karumari Amman Temple in Bangalore in Rajarajeshwari Nagar. For the last 50 years, I am a strong devotee of Sri Devi Karumariamman of Thiruverkadu, Chennai. 25 years back, I made mind to start construction of the temple. I earmarked land for Karumari Amman Temple.
I created a small hillock of 30 feet height but I could not start a temple. Last 12 years back, In 2011 Sri Madhukur Swamiji came to me. He is a strong Karumariamman Devi Upasaga. The time had come to start. I started and completed the temple. Then I handed over, to look after the complete pooja kainkaryam to swamiji. He is looking after the temple to the satisfaction of Sri Devi Karumari Amman and also public.
The beautiful temple features a life-size statue of Sri Devi Karumari Amman and is situated in a serene location on a man-made hillock. It is located opposite the Shrungagiri Sri Shanmuka temple in Rajarajeswari Nagar- Bangalore, Karnataka, India.
The temple is designed in the form of a temple ratham, or a temple chariot, with four stone wheels, creating the feeling that Sri Karumari is sitting in the ratham as the main deity. In the ardha mantapam of the temple, Sri Ganapathy, Sri Subrahmanya, Byreshwara, Muneeswara, and other deities are installed as parivara dhevathaas (attendant deities).
It is a small Temple with the vimana gopuram over the sanctum sanctorium (like Thanjavur Brahadees wara Temple).
Temple History
It all began in 1986
Madhukara Guruji has found himself to be in divine love with Devi since his childhood days. He started worshiping Sri Devi Karumariamma in 1986 in his home where he offered his Poojas, Alankaras and sevas to a small idol of Sri Devi Karumariamma.
The poojas and homas were being performed in Guruji's home regularly with utmost sincerity and hence attracted thousands of devotees and patrons.
By the grace of Amma, Dr. Arunachalam sir decided to donate the land and build a beautiful temple to Sri Devi Karumariamma in Rajarajeshwari Nagar Bangalore. Accordingly, the temple was built in 2009 and the rest is history.
The temple has been a divine, energetic and festive place ever since. Devotees from all around the world visit the temple and receive Amma's grace and Guruji's Guidance.
Below are the pictures that tell the story and history of Sri Devi Karumariamma temple.
